1. Blumen is prompting me that my registration code will expire in a few days or it has expired. Why?

You require a new registration code for Blumen after 30 days of the first install. Please call 1-800-597-8204 to get the new registration code. Once the new registration code has been entered, Blumen would not prompt you again for the registration code.  Top

2. How can I change the Fiscal Year in Blumen?

  • From the Command Center, click on Admin.
  • Click on System Preferences.

Now you should see the System Preferences screen.

  • Change the Fiscal Year.
  • Change the Current Year (calendar year).
  • Change the Semester.
  • Change the Reporting Period dates.
  • Click on OK to save the changes and close the screen.  Top


3. I cannot find a student by either last name or first name, how can I find a missing student?

  • From the Command Center, Click on Student.
  • Click on student Data.

Now you should see the Student Data Filter screen.

  • Type zero (0) for the fiscal year and press the TAB key.
  • Type the student First Name or Last Name in the Look for box and press the Find button.  Top


4. The number of sessions / participants is not right in my Annual Performance Report. How should I correct the problem?

There are mainly 2 reasons why the number of sessions / participants is not correct in section 3 of the Annual Performance Report (APR).

  • Firstly, the activity / services do not have a group assigned.
  • Secondly, students’ profile is not updated with the contacts.

5. I get an error message – “ an error has occurred in your application, this wizard…..”. How do I fix the error?

An error can occur in Blumen due to several reasons like system crash, power outage, system low on memory etc. On the error message screen, click on print error message and fax the error message to Compansol at (281) 597-8258 with your contact information and a Blumen technical support person would get back to you to fix the error message.Top

 



6. When I enter a new contact, I get a message – “warning: the date you have entered is not within your fiscal year, and may be an error!” what is wrong?

The contact date you are entering falls outside the specified reporting period. You can check and edit the reporting period dates from System Preferences under Admin.

7. I misspelled a counselor name and now I have two names for the same counselor, how can I fix this problem?

  • From the Command Center, click on Counselor
  • Click on counselors

Now you should see the Counselor Data Filter screen.

  • Select the Counselor name with the wrong spelling (the instance which you want to remove from the counselor’s list)
  • Click on Merge
  • Select the Counselor name with the right spelling from the list (the instance which you want to keep from the counselor’s list
  • Click on OK
  • Click on Yes
  • Click on OK to Continue.  Top

     



8. I want to view and print the last name first of my students, is it possible?

Yes, it is possible to view and print the students’ last name first. i. e. Washington, George.

  • From the Command Center, click on Utilities
  • Click on Set My Preferences

Now you should see the Set My Preferences screen.

  • Check option “View and print last name first”
  • Click on OK   Top

     



9. When I click on send e-mail, it brings up an e-mail setup window, what should I enter there?

Blumen requires some information before you can send e-mails.

  • Mail server: Type the address of the incoming mail server. You may need to ask your computer services department about it.
  • Sender E-mail: Type your or sender’s e-mail address. This e-mail address would appear as the sender’s address.
  • Sender Name: Type the sender’s name. The name would appear as the sender’s name in the sent e-mails.
  • Signature: Type your contact information or some other information. This would be added to all the e-mails that you send.   Top

     



10. What is the Request Manager under the reports section?

Request manager is the option from where you have access to all the reports, mailing labels, graphs, custom reports and cross-tabs in Blumen. All the reports are organized in several folders in the request manager. You can modify existing reports and also create new reports from this section.   Top
